Hessel van den Herik studied business economics in Rotterdam. He joined Ernst & Young in 1998 and obtained his RA title through a postgraduate programme at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
After eleven years at Ernst & Young, Hessel held various financial and operational management positions at Radio Holland (part of Imtech) in the Netherlands and Germany, where he helped realise several (including international) M&A transactions. Hessel then worked as CFO/COO at Codema, where the focus was always on improvement processes.
"As someone who is (jointly) responsible for an operation/company, you quickly learn what really determines the success of the company and what the bottlenecks are. It gives me a lot of energy to use my experience to understand the operation behind the figures. I would like to use the knowledge I have gained during the restructuring of processes and companies, with the associated stakeholder management, to act as a good sparring partner for the entrepreneur and provide well-founded advice on his issues relating to financing and business operations."
