Evert Jan Witteveen studied business economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam and subsequently obtained an MBA from the Graduate School of Business in Chicago. He began his career in management consulting, first in the United Kingdom and later in the Netherlands at Bakkenist/Deloitte. One of his first major assignments involved a large-scale restructuring project for Philips Lighting in Italy. Evert Jan is a member of EACTP.
Following his time in consulting, he held senior management positions in the manufacturing industry in the Netherlands and Germany for several years. He then spent a long period at Stork, where he held various management roles within Technical Services, focusing on electrical and mechanical maintenance and projects. During this period, he not only achieved strong organic growth and growth through acquisitions, but was also responsible for a wide range of restructuring projects. In his final years at Stork, he was responsible for Stork Europe, an organisation with a turnover of approximately €450 million and 4,500 employees.
“In 2011, I took a sabbatical to focus full-time on my great passion: competitive alpine ski racing. Since 2012, I have been associated with Kruger Interim Management, initially as an interim manager and later as an associate, driven by my strong affinity with SMEs. Since then, I have carried out assignments almost exclusively on behalf of Kruger.”
“My focus is on project organisations within the construction and installation sectors, as well as the manufacturing industry. I work primarily for owners/directors and major shareholders, supervisory boards and private equity firms. Many assignments are initiated by the Non-Performing Loans departments of major banks. My role in these is usually that of Managing Director or Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO).”
Evert Jan has extensive experience in the field of refinancing, M&A processes, situations involving (imminent) insolvency, turnarounds and pre-packs. In addition, he has extensive experience as a (co-)director in companies facing liquidity and continuity issues, with a strong focus on mitigating risks relating to improper management and potential directors’ liability. The companies in which he has been active typically range in size from €20 million to €150 million in turnover.
